The preliminary beer list for the 16th and Last Call edition of the Denver Rare Beer Tasting has been released and it includes rare, exotic and vintage beers from 56 of America’s most respected craft beer producers. The sold out event supports the Pints for Prostates campaign and takes place on Oct. 9th during the Great American Beer Festival weekend.

The Denver Rare Beer Tasting includes a free health screening event that is open to the public on Oct. 9th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of Bierstadt Lagerhaus, located at 2875 Blake St. in Denver’s RiNo district. The Beer Lovers Online Auction includes a variety of unique beer experiences and collectibles, and will open on Sept. 25. One of the auction items will be a VIP experience for two at the Denver Rare Beer Tasting. This is the last chance to attend the sold out last call edition of the event. You do not need a Denver Rare Beer Tasting ticket to take part in the health screening or bid in the auction.

“The Denver Rare Beer Tasting brings together some of the country’s best craft breweries pouring some of their hardest to find beers to fight prostate cancer,” said Rick Lyke, founder of Pints for Prostates. “The craft beer community has made this Pints for Prostates fundraiser a tradition during the Great American Beer Festival weekend. We’re looking forward to an incredible afternoon of beer passion as a fitting ‘last call’ for the Denver Rare Beer Tasting.”

Pints for Prostates is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity and all net proceeds from Denver Rare Beer Tasting go towards the group’s awareness mission, education and free prostate cancer screening programs. Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer in the U.S. based on newly diagnosed cases. The National Cancer Institute estimates that approximately 313,780 new prostate cancer cases will be diagnosed in 2025, with 35,770 U.S. deaths from the disease. Prostate cancer is nearly 100 percent survivable when detected early and properly treated. There are currently more than 3.5 million survivors of prostate cancer in the U.S.

All About Beer is the media sponsor for the Denver Rare Beer Tasting XVI. Sponsorship packages are available for companies that wish to support this boutique tasting.

A total of 255 of America’s most respected craft breweries from 45 states will have poured at the event during its 16 editions. Only three breweries – Avery, Samuel Adams and Sierra Nevada – will have participated in all 16, another 58 breweries poured at least five times and 105 made a single appearance at the event.

“The Denver Rare Beer Tasting is a special experience for beer fans and brewers that has the important mission of fighting prostate cancer,” said Lyke. “This event reminds people about the importance of early detection. A simple blood test in 2008 saved my life and we want people to understand that paying attention to regular health screenings can help them to take charge of their health.”
