Rockford, Ill. — The Olympic Tavern in Rockford, Ill., is marking Oktoberfest for a Cure by promoting prostate cancer awareness and raising funds for the Pints for Prostates campaign during the month of September.
Throughout all of September, patrons can buy any Bell’s beer and The Olympic Tavern will donate $.50 to Pints for Prostates. The Olympic Tavern is located at 2327 N Main St. in Rockford.
The Olympic Tavern is also hosting a rare beer tasting and silent auction on Sept. 26 from 7-9 p.m.
Pints for Prostates is a grassroots campaign that uses the universal language of beer to reach men with an important health message. Founded by prostate cancer survivor Rick Lyke in 2008, the campaign raises awareness among men about the need for regular health screenings and PSA testing.
