Portsmouth, N.H. Smuttynose Brewery is helping Pints for Prostates to reach men through the universal language of beer as part of its brewery tour program through the end of June.
Smuttynose Brewery is one of New England’s oldest and most respected craft breweries. The brewery offers tours on Fridays and Saturdays. There is no cost to take a tour of the brewery. Instead of charging a fee, Smuttynose asks guests to please make a voluntary $2 minimum donation to one of two non-profit organizations selected by its staff and listed on the donation box. Pints for Prostates and ChildVoice International have been selected to receive donations for the second quarter of the year.
From the Smuttynose website:
At Smuttynose, tours and tastings are offered Fridays at 5:30 pm and Saturdays at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Starting in May, Saturday tours will be offered at 10:00 am, noon and 2:00 pm. If you’d like to inquire about arranging a private tour for a larger group, contact us. Naturally, we recommend rounding out your visit to Smuttynose with a trip to our sister company, the Portsmouth Brewery, New Hampshire’s original brewpub, located in downtown Portsmouth, less than five miles away.
If you will be bringing your children with you as you tour Smuttynose, please keep them with you at all times. Also, we urge you to wear appropriate footwear, avoiding sandals, open-toed shoes or flip-flops. We’ve got fittings, hoses, puddles, cleaning chemicals, hot things, cold things and heavy machinery. These are all interesting things, but we’d much rather tell you about them than have you experience them first hand. You’re better off experiencing the final product – Smuttynose beer (unless of course you’re under 21).
