STEVENS POINT, WISC. — Pointoberfest is coming to Stevens Point, Wisc., on Sept. 22 and the event is helping Pints for Prostates reach men through the universal language of beer.

Stevens Point Brewing is sponsoring Pointoberfest on Sept. 22 from 4-8 p.m. The event is being held at the brewery, 2617 Water St. in Stevens Point, Wisc. Pointoberfest features a beer tent, food and music. It is part of Pints for Prostates nationwide Oktoberfest for a Cure celebration.

The Point Brewery Oktoberfest includes sampling of all Point craft beers in souvenir sampling glass. The Fat Brass band is scheduled to perform. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Pints for Prostates is an awareness campaign created in 2008. In addition to appearing at various beer festivals and other events around the U.S., Pints for Prostates also funds free men’s health screenings organized by the Prostate Conditions Education Council and supports the education efforts of the Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network, which assists newly diagnosed patients and men and their families battling the disease.
