JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Pints for Prostates will be celebrating Oktoberfest for a Cure at Barcade, located at 163 Newark Ave.  in Jersey City, N.J., on Sept. 16 from 2-6 p.m.

Pints for Prostates uses the universal language of beer to reach men with an import health message. September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Nearly 30,000 American men died from the disease last year. Early detection and appropriate treatment are critical to fighting prostate cancer.

John Kleinchester, who runs the Beertography blog, is organizing the event which will feature a number of hard to find brews, including Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Special blue Pints for Prostates wrist bands will be available at the door. Barcade will donate funds to the Pints for Prostates campaign when patrons wearing the wristbands purchase a beer.

Guests can also make a donation for the chance to win a nine night trip for two to Belgium, Holland and Germany to tour world class breweries and visit famous beer cities.
